In the last ten years I have gone from being a cable TV
customer, Dish TV customer and then a DirecTV customer.
Each time I have had to go through the nightmare of
installation, setup, more expense and on and on. I
finally found the answer and now

Chapter I - Cable TV
I
became a customer because of the sweet deal they were
offering to come on board. $250 dollars in rebates. Once
I began my service I had had nothing but very bad
encounters with Customer Service. They treated me as if
they were paying me to be a member of their network, but
the truth of the matter is that I was paying them to
treat me like I was dirt under their finger nails. The
Customer Service was so bad I suffered from headaches
after a long hurry up and wait call with Comcast and the
sad thing about it is they never resolved the issue.
Comcast has hung up in my face...blind transferred me in
the middle of a conversation, yelled at me as if I was a
child, refused to allow me to talk to a supervisor, lied
to me about my contract. I never received a rebate that
was promised and they disconnected my service after I
made a payment.
This was
some of the good things that happened. What were my
choices. They were the only cable provider in the area
and my only other choice was satellite TV.
Chapter 2 - Dish TV
Fed up
with cable and the high bills, I saw a good promotion for Dish TV. I
signed up with DISH for basic service with 3 months free
HBO/Cinemax and had no problems. I called to cancel HBO/Cinemax
and took Dish up on an offer for Showtime at $10 and that's
when the problems started.
Each bill
showed the regular price rather then discount so I
called the company and for 3
months each manager I spoke
to promised that they would fix the bill and apply the
appropriate credits. At one point when I asked to speak
to a manager one of the front line operators claimed to
be a manager and after 20 minutes of discussion she
finally admitted that she was not a manager and put in
me in touch with someone who also claimed they were a
manager but would not review the history on this
situation [don't they record
calls for customer service
purposes?]
By the 3rd time I was so fed up at having been lied to,
been given the runaround, and the bill becoming ever
larger that I told them I wanted to cancel the service
completely. They reminded me that if I did that then I
would have to pay a $150 cancellation fee since I had
signed an 18 month contract and by the way they could
offer me 2 months of Showtime service at $10 as a sign
of apology. Are they kidding? So I decided to keep the
basic service for 12 more months since I was stuck in
the contract and then I will move to Direct TV who cost
a little more but who hopefully care more about their
customers.
I am really disappointed since had read good reviews for
DISH before but I guess experience is the best teacher.

Chapter 3 - DirecTV
Wow,
finally a company that has some customer service even
though it was a little more expensive than Dish Network.
I had been with DirecTV for 2 years and things were
going really well. The problems started when I
received a billing for $89.95 for March Madness
Basketball. First of all I don't watch basketball
on TV and secondly I never ordered it. I called
Customer Service and spoke with someone that was very
polite and they corrected my bill, apologized and
assured me that it was a mistake.
That was
great and almost exactly one year later guess what
appeared on my bill again? That's it, March Madness
except this time it was $149.95. I called and
complained but this time I got the complete run around.
I did not discover the bill until the Final Four was
over and they were claiming that I had used the service
when I did not even know that I had it.
This went
round and round for four months, umpteen phone calls and
lots of aggravation. Finally they corrected the bill and
straightened out my account. So I guess I was better off
than I was with Dish and Comcast. That is unless
it gets really cloudy and stormy at which point my TV
goes completely out. The perils of satellite TV.
Finally I found
something that works!
I am a
diehard TV addict and I was almost at my wits end.
I had tried cable and that sucked. I tried both
satellite TV providers and they were both lacking.
I was almost at the end of my rope and sick of the
outrageous bills every month.
A good
friend of mine told me about a product that he had
found. I
had never heard of this but he assured me
that not only was it legal but he could watch stuff that
was not on any other service. He was able to watch
blacked out sporting events, movies, foreign channels
and other great stuff.
He told me
about a new technology, TV over PC. He also told
me that once you had the software the service was free
and you did not have to pay any monthly fees. It
sounded too good to be true but since it was pretty
cheap I decided to try it.
The first
company I used did provide all kinds of channels but
they would break up or come through sporadically.
Sometimes I would go back and they would not be
available. I really liked the idea and started to
research the technology on the Internet.
Eventually I found the answer.
Here is what I
recommend.
It took
some searching but finally I found a great company for
getting TV over my computer. In my opinion this company
is head and shoulders above other companies that provide
similar service.
The reason
I recommend SatelliteSoft.com is that this company not
only provides me with tons stations, crystal clear
picture, great reliability and guess what else,
excellent customer service. Not only that I don't get a
monthly bill! I am able to relax and watch what I
want when I want with no hassles and no bills.
This company was a TV junkies dream.
